Hey guys! Glad to see you came back :) Today, I'm going to give you 4 most pivotal tips when preparing for college. I'm currently a senior in high school and these are helping me during the college preparation process.

Pass ACT and SAT

Getting concordant scores on your ACT(19+) & SAT(1050+) is crucial when applying to colleges, depending on what state you're in this may or may not effect you. Let's say you do stay in a state where ACT& SAT scores matter, you must apply yourself, you can do that by getting a tutor specialized in ACT& SAT test taking, watching YouTube videos, or what I recommend is studying on Khan Academy .

Taking the Right Classes

Not taking the right classes in high school can set you back a lot when it comes to preparing for college. For example, Alex only takes one year of a foreign language but his dream college requires 2 years minimum of a foreign language. Because he didn't take 2 years of a foreign language he will now have to pay for that class in college or wont be able to go to his dream school. I'm hoping you don't want to be in a scenario like Alex. To prevent this you must know which classes you need to take, in order to already have the requirements when applying for schools. Also, having a good GPA will help you tremendously when applying for school, in some cases this can be the cause of you getting accepted or denied. You can check to see the GPA requirement for any school by a quick google search.

Talk to Your Guidance Counselor

I CANT STRESS THIS ENOUGH! Utilize your human resources, if you don't know something, ASK! You don't want to be behind in your college process just because you didn't ask a question. I recommend you write a list of question you may have about college, schedule a meeting with your guidance counselor and get answers! ULTILIZE YOUR HUMAN RECOURCES at school, home or even ask college students.

Financing for College

Know how you're going to pay for college, whether its with FASFA, your parents, scholarships, or you're if you're going to pay your way through. Take into account the cost of living, tuition, transportation, gas, and any other expenses you may have when it comes to college. PLAN WISLEY!

Words of Encouragement

Planning for college and going through the whole process of writing essays, applying for scholarships, SAT&ACT exams, etc. can be overwhelming and stressful. You got it though apply yourself accordingly, ask questions. Whatever you need to do, to be most prepared for this new journey you're about to experience. Push yourself, believe in yourself, and don't give up what ever you do. The harder it gets, the more rewarding it'll be.

See Ya!
